Six years after their Bollywood debut in Shashank Khaitan’s Dhadak, Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khattar are all set to share the screen once again. The reunion comes courtesy of Dharma Productions helmed by National Award-winning director Neeraj Ghaywan. According to a report in Peeping Moon, the film is currently in pre-production and is expected to start shooting in Bhopal this October. Vishal Jethwa also acting in this film, who was seen in Tiger 3.
Upcoming project
The upcoming project as an “emotional human drama”. The film is a fresh take for both hero and heroine. Neeraj Ghaywan is working on this movie from past two years, shares a source close to the development. Jhanvi and Ishaan appreciated the director’s work and took the film forward quickly, giving them completely different roles from the ones they played in Dhadak earlier. They have been dying to work together once again since their first film and Neeraj is thrilled to have found the perfect reunion recipe in the film.
After directing the Vicky Kaushal starrer Masaan in 2015, he directed Sacred Games Season 2 and contributed episodes to Made in Heaven Season 2 and Dharma Productions’ anthology film Ajeeb Dastans.
This is fifth project of Janhvi Kapoor with Dharma Productions after Dhadak, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, Mr. and Mrs. Mahi and the upcoming movie Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari. However, there may be a sixth addition before Dostana 2 is discontinued. Ishaan Khattar, on the other hand, worked only in Dhadak, his second project with Dharma. The film marks a marked change in television actor Vishal Jethwa, who is known for his villainous roles in Yash Raj Films’ Mardaani 2 and Tiger 3. This is Vishal’s first project with Dharma Productions.
On the work front, Janhvi will soon be seen in the gripping thriller Ulaaz, which will release in theaters on August 2. Ama Devara: Part 1 also features Jr NTR hitting the theaters on September 27. Ishaan Khattar, meanwhile, owns two Netflix. Projects lined up. International series The Perfect Couple with Hollywood stars Nicole Kidman and Dakota Fanning, and romantic drama series Royals with Bhumi Pednekar.
