Ram Gopal Varma’s recent revelations in his new chat have shocked movie lovers. The director claimed that the popular Telugu superstar paid money from his own pocket to keep his film going at the box office after it failed to perform. With this, netizens are dying to know who this superstar is. Pan India stars Prabhas, Vijay Devarakonda and Ram Charan are among the names they are speculating to be part of it.
Ram Gopal Varma told Galata Plus, “A corporate company came from Bombay and made a movie in Telugu with a big star. Well, now for a movie, if ever there is a shortage. You know, in theaters. The corporate company thought to remove it. The star’s fans thought it would be a shame if he didn’t last at least this long.
So, Hero called the head of the corporate company and said now I will use my own money, but this time you lead the way. As long as he’s spending money, what do they have to lose? In some places the information is not given to the distributor. So, the distributor stopped advertising in the newspaper that it was playing in theatres. It is an extra cost, and he is not giving because of the deficit, so that is the rule he is following. So actually, the film is running and there are no ads and it’s a very small amount of money but that’s just corporate policy. The film maker said that the heroes have completely stopped.

Direction, Best Debut by a Director and Filmfare Award for Best Film – Telugu. Successively, the film was included in CNN-IBN’s list of 100 greatest Indian films of all time. Varma’s next directorial venture was Ksana Kasam (1991), a neo-noir heist film that was screened at the Ann Arbor Film Festival, earning him another Nandi Award for Best Director and a Nandi Award for Best Screenplay Writer.
